Hello my dear followers,
You know it — my heart beats for Ayurveda.
I love the food, the rituals, and the grounding energy it brings into my life. Living in alignment with Ayurvedic principles has been truly transformative.
Over the past year, I followed a strictly vegan Ayurvedic diet, avoiding dairy as much as possible. While it was a beautiful and insightful journey, I began to notice side effects: nutrient deficiencies and a slow decline in my well-being.
Following a very strict low-carb vegan diet combined with regular workouts eventually took its toll. Early in 2025, my body started to crave dairy, salty food, and fish — and I finally listened.
I gave my body what it needed in that moment (during a difficult time for my mental health).
After deep reflection, I made the conscious choice to reintroduce dairy — carefully, ethically, and in line with my Ayurvedic path. I now include small amounts of organic, locally sourced dairy like cheese and cottage cheese, while still living mostly vegan.
As far as my research shows, many traditional lacto-vegetarian Ayurvedic meals include grains, legumes, vegetables, and dairy — while avoiding meat and animal fats.
At the same time, I can’t ignore our global reality. The food industry — and the plastic that comes with it — plays a massive role in our planet’s suffering. We can’t change everything overnight, but we can start with conscious choices.
For me, this means continuing to avoid meat, buying local and organic, and doing my best to live in alignment with both my values and the Earth.
Let’s be an inspiration for each other — there is no Planet B.
P.S. I added the Dosha-Type Test- which I created into this blog-article. Feel free to Download it and join the Ayurveda-ride. 🙂
With love,
Isabella
