Keep your body and digestion warm.
I’m super happy to share a little blog post with you today. How are you enjoying the winter so far? Here in Berlin it has gotten a bit colder again, which I actually find very nice. I love living with all four seasons—and in Germany, thankfully, that’s truly possible.
Today, I want to offer you a short inspiration from Ayurveda to help you dive a little deeper into your own healing journey.
In Ayurveda, we believe that “toxins,” called Ama, can cause imbalance in the body.
Let’s break the topic of toxins down to the gut.
So-called feces (stool) are the waste products of food. They are solid waste, and their main function is to eliminate toxins and unnecessary substances from the body.
What you don’t release will be stored in your body. As a consequence, the metabolic process becomes hindered, which can eventually lead to the formation of malformed or weakened tissues.
My tip for you is to keep both your body and your Agni (digestive fire) strong and alive.
This means: eat right, digest well, and poo properly — absorb what nourishes you and release what doesn’t.
On my Instagram, I’ve already shared the simple practice of drinking warm lemon water in the morning (or even during the day), as well as investing in a tongue scraper. These are small but powerful steps toward living an Ayurvedic lifestyle. If you haven’t started yet—now is the perfect time.
Below, you’ll find the wonderful traditional Kitchari recipe I’d love to share with you. This gentle detox supports gut purification, softens the stool, and helps release Ama—remember: Ama = toxins.
Talk soon, my dears.
For sure, I’ll be back with a new newsletter at the beginning of next year.
Lots of love & happy Sunday,
Isabella
